[ARCHIVED] Holiday Lights Removed This Weekend

Holiday Lights Removal

Annual Program Maintains Tree Health

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-April 23, 2025-A parking lane only closure of Lincoln Avenue will occur over the weekend for the removal of the traditional holiday lights in the trees on both sides of the main downtown throughfare. The lights are replaced annually to maintain tree health.

Mainstreet Steamboat manages the holiday lights through funding from the city along Lincoln Avenue and has contracted with SAVATREE to remove the holiday lights in all the trees along both sides of the avenue. SAVATREE donates a third of the installation cost as a gift to the community.

The parking lane of eastbound Lincoln Avenue will be closed on Saturday, April 26, starting at approximately 6am with crews working from 12th to 3rd Streets. The following day, Sunday, April 27, the closure shifts to the parking lane going westbound from 3rd to 12th Streets.

The work and closure are expected to be completed around 4pm each day, pending no weather delays. Only the parking lane will see a moving closure, both travel lanes will remain open through the installation.

Steamboat Springs Transit operations will continue as normal during the lane closures.
