Patrol Services responds to calls for service promptly, applies community policing problem-solving techniques to keep the peace in our community, and is proactive in identifying problem areas and working with the community to find solutions.

Patrol Services  works with the community to reduce crime through professional community policing techniques and treats citizens and visitors courteously and with respect while enforcing municipal, state, and federal laws in a fair and impartial manner. The division pursues and apprehends offenders and obtains legal evidence necessary to ensure the conviction of such offenders in criminal courts.

Traffic Enforcement

The unit is responsible for traffic enforcement and bringing safe driving behaviors back to our community. The rules of the road apply, and the special unit will actively target unsafe driving behaviors and keeping our streets safe.

Drug Interdiction & Human Trafficking

Disrupting the flow of narcotics through the region.

Event Security & Traffic Oversight

Oversee security measures and traffic planning for major events.

Police CarRide Along Program
Steamboat Springs Police offers a ride along program in which citizens may ride with a uniformed police officer during regular duty shift. 

This program is a great way for citizens to witness firsthand how their law enforcement officers help to keep the community safe. 

Those interested in the program must fill out and submit an application and be approved by the commander. Please submit applications to Jamie Malone, Admin Services Manager.
